1. What Salience is
Salience is a photographic analysis tool. It generates visual outputs such as heatmaps and scanpaths to suggest likely attention patterns in an image.
These outputs are intended for visual education, composition analysis, and creative exploration. They do not represent fixed or universal viewer behaviour.
2. Use of the site
You may use Salience only in a lawful and responsible way.
You agree not to:
- misuse, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site or its infrastructure
- attempt to bypass limits, restrictions, or security measures
- upload content you do not have the right to use
- use the service for unlawful, abusive, or harmful purposes
We may limit or suspend access if misuse or abuse is detected.
3. Your images
You retain ownership of the images you upload.
By uploading an image, you confirm that you have the right to use it for analysis through this site.
Salience processes uploaded images only to provide the requested analysis results, subject to the site’s Privacy page.
4. Results and accuracy
Salience provides predictive visual outputs based on vision-science models.
The results are indicative only. They suggest likely attention patterns and eye movement, but they are not guarantees, measurements of actual viewer behaviour, or judgments of artistic quality.
5. Availability
Salience is provided on an as-available basis.
We may change, pause, limit, or discontinue any part of the site at any time, including features, analysis limits, and availability, without notice.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or permanent availability of the service.
6. Intellectual property
The Salience website, branding, design, text, and original site content are the property of Martin Kocjan unless stated otherwise.
These terms do not give you ownership of the site, its branding, or its materials.
Research models and cited papers remain the property of their respective authors and rights holders.
7. Privacy
Use of the site is also subject to the Privacy page, which explains how uploaded images and limited browser-local preferences are handled.
8. Liability
Salience is provided for informational and creative use.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Salience is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss arising from use of the site.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
